Free Digital Music

From the same folks who brought you the cheap sweetness of en:peg digital comes a full album of free music! It’s been out since mid-summer, and it’s still good. It’s a sampler compilation of exclusive tracks from n5MD’s varied roster of artists (aka the n5 Mafia): The Mafia Rip Bin. You get a nice zip file full of music and PDF artwork. Personal favorites are the Vesna track (they continue to be good) and ML (who also continue to be good). The opening track by Similar is also a great listen. Runners-up would be Jvox’s playful “The Window” and Tim Koch’s simply complex “Opfunk.” Proem’s tension filled “7 Stitches” also stands out.

I love a good compilation when it flows together well — when it knows where it’s going and all the tracks work together to get there. That’s not an easy thing to do, but n5 have achieved that here. And not only is it a cohesive, well-constructed compilation with good music, it’s also free! Go get it.
