Last night Alex and I went to the June Community Board 8 Street Fairs Committee meeting to show support for greenmarkets. There was a proposal to expand the one that’s starting July 1 at St. Stephen’s on 82nd St between 1st & York, and a second proposal to start a second one on 1st Ave between 92nd & 93rd. Both proposals were approved, and you can read more details about the meeting at Upper Green Side. (Which, BTW, is shaping up quite well, even if I do say so myself.)

So, huzzah! The Upper Green Side is getting greenmarkets! (Pending final approval by the full board, but hopefully the chances of that not happening are slim.) Now let’s make them a success, and let’s hope we are equally successful bringing bike lanes and other improvements to the area.
